The longest-running American musical in Broadway history, Chicago is based on a 1926 play about actual criminals and features the work of legends John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse.
Story:
Roxie Hart is sent to prison for killing a man who tried to walk out on her. While in prison she meets Velma Kelly, a big-time vaudeville star with twice as much blood on her hands. The two vie for the same lawyer, Billy Flynn, to help win their freedom and play the public from prison to help win fame for when they’re finally free.
