Stephen Joshua Sondheim was born March 22, 1930 in New York City.
He is responsible for writing lyrics and songs for numerous shows on Broadway, off Broadway, and in the movie theatres. He is also responsible for the concept of the musical or 'unified show'.
He is still alive today and is currently in the process of creating another masterpiece.
