THE KING AND I
 


Set in Bankok in the 1860s, Anna becomes governess to King Mongkut's many children. In the beginning the two clash horribly, but in the end, they fall in love. Anna comes to have influence on the government, even after the king dies. There is a second romance between Tuptim and Lun Tha.
