THE MOST HAPPY
FELLA

Based on Sidney Howard's "They Knew What They Wanted." Tony Esposito, an old vineyard owner proposes marriage to Rosabella by mail. She accepts thinking that the picture Tony had sent her is truly him, in reality it was a picture of his handsome ranch foreman Joe. Rosabella is so upset at finding Tony so ugly, that on her wedding night she sleeps with Joe and ends up pregnant. Tony is upset because of his wife's affair and pregnancy but in the end, Tony offers to raise the child as his own.
